Sales of alcoholic beverages in the U.S. have risen by an inflation-adjusted 14 per cent over the past ten years, and alcohol industry profits are up even higher -- 21 per cent in the past four years alone. Why is alcohol legal?
ReplyDeleteIt makes people feel better. I'm not saying that people should drink - definitely not! The current climate is making drinking habits worse, but people will pay whatever they can to buy something. I thought the government were trying to help us during the recession, not make us spend more money on alcohol?
