Nursing mom kills baby with cocaine in breast milk
A nursing mother in West Branch MI killed her 5-month old baby with breast milk containing cocaine, medical examiners ruled. The mother had been using cocaine two or three times a day while nursing the infant girl, Karie Lee Bowman. The woman was sentenced to nine months in prison. Source.

Nine months? Hmmm....
I am the mother of a 6 month old. I used while in the first trimester of pregnancy. By the grace of God I am sober, I went to treatment, I will be clean 1yr in March 08. I feel the mother should have gotten more time than 9months. It's a shame the baby had to died
9 months? wats that gunna do? tickle her belly for more??? i hate the freaking law nd the government with their stupid ass decisions, its so obsurd...she should've gotten 5-10 years nd second degree murder...it agravates me wen i her a fukin baby died bcuz of a dumbass grownup
know one knows for sure how karie lee died. and as a matter of fact on the way to the hostpital they did cpr and fluid came out of her lungs..so she possilby could of choked. and sara did not use the drug the same day the baby died she amitted too using it a day or so beforr. so you never know..no one will
