Governor Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas (photo) has asked the state legislature for an additional $4 million to provide addiction treatment for indigent persons.People without resources currently may have to wait 60 days or longer to get a bed in a detox facility, the director of a Salina treatment program said.
Governor Sebelius' State of the State message also encouraged Kansans to take the Healthy Kansas Pledge and commit to making a few simple changes in their lives, namely: getting more physical activity, eating healthier and quitting smoking. Website. Source.
